We Are Up & Running

20th September, 2005; 09:20:58

We have been flying around over the last few days attending to all the little bits & bobs that have to be sorted ready for the big night - and last night it came. Oh, and what a night Mitch!

It was a reasonable house - made up completely of Saucy Jack virgins! There were a couple of tiny glitches that hardly anyone who didn't know the show would have noticed but otherwise the show ran flawlessly & by the time the strains of Dancing Queen were heard the audience were no longer Saucy Jack virgins but converts. Several people were heard to be asking for the Box Office number (01462 455166 by the way) so that they could buy more tickets and come and see it again - so, if you haven't already got your tickets please book them soon as we'd hate you to miss out.

All in all it was definitely something of an opening night success - cast, crew & audience all enjoyed themselves and the cocktails seemed to go down well too!

We've got a load of photos taken at the dress rehearsal which will be going up in the gallery in the next day or two (there's over 180 to sort through, then resize & post so please bear with us - we'll get them up as soon as possible).

We are really looking forward to seeing you all over the next few days.

You'll have fun - And that's a promise!

Nearly there...

16th September, 2005; 12:19:52

Sorry there hasn't been much in the way of updates recently, but we've been putting in some long hours getting things ready for the opening night.

The costumes are just finished - they look great!

The set is now done, bar a few finishing touches - there's a few nods to previous productions for those that know the show from way back. We're pleased with it, which is the important thing.

The technical is still in full flow with lights going up and sound lines being run etc. We're just about to settle in for a big session right now ready for technical runs and tweaks on Saturday and a full dress rehearsal on Sunday.

We?ll post some more photos soon (hopefully from the tech or dress runs so there'll be some colour on the set for a change).

Looking forward to seeing you all at the show next week.

Sounding Good

12th August, 2005; 09:10:46

The backing tracks have now arrived and we ran through all the songs with them last night. It must be said that they've certainly added an extra dimension and the performances we had at last nights rehearsal were some of the best we've ever had - they really are sounding good.

Tickets are selling well so if you haven't got yours yet make sure you get them soon (full details on our booking page)

Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Tickets are now on sale

4th August, 2005; 09:28:02

Well, just a quick note to say that the tickets are now on sale. We have already had a fair bit of interest and tickets are selling quite quickly, particularly for the Saturday night. All ticket pricing and availability information is on the Booking page.

Welcome

27th July, 2005; 21:34:31

Sorry that we've been neglecting the journal but we've been working hard on the show and somehow we don't seem to have found the time to get round to it. So, here is the first of what we hope will be regular journal entries from now on.

Rehearsals are progressing well with most of the dances learned and all of the songs well on the way. We have blocked both acts, written the cabaret and the set is taking shape nicely.

What we find most encouraging is that at this relatively early stage of rehearsal there is already an obvious team spirit within the cast. Everyone is pulling their weight and offering up anything they think might help.

Oh - we've also had the first fittings for costumes: The Glitterboots and Vixens outfits look great! (photos to follow shortly).

Dan.
